A small studio making small, useful apps.
313bits is an independent software studio. We build simple web apps that solve everyday problems for families in Pakistan and India — and we keep them free, private and easy to use.
What we do
Some of the most useful software is also the smallest: one clear job, done well, on the phone you already have. That's what we set out to make at 313bits.
Each app lives at its own address under 313bits.com. Our first, Shajra, is a private family tree that names every relative in the everyday Urdu words families actually use — Abbu, Phuphi, Mamu, Chachazad — worked out from each person's point of view.
How we work
We keep our apps focused, ask for as little data as possible, and make sure they run in the browser on any phone. They're free to use and supported by ads, with a paid ad-free option where we offer one.
New apps are released when they're ready, not before.
How we build
What you can expect from every 313bits app
Small and focused
Each app does one job and does it well. No bloated suites, no features you have to work around.
Private by default
We ask for as little data as an app needs to work, and what you share stays private — never put on public display.
Works on any phone
Our apps run in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Nothing to hunt for in an app store.
Free, supported by ads
Our apps are free to use and supported by ads. Where we offer it, a paid option removes the ads — like Shajra Plus.
Urdu and English friendly
Clear English alongside the Urdu words families actually use — Abbu, Phuphi, Mamu, Chachazad.
