A private family tree for South Asian families.

Build your family tree together, and see every relative by the word your family actually uses — worked out automatically from each person's point of view.

  • Private and invite-only — relatives join through the admin's invite link, and the admin approves them. No public directory.
  • Relations in everyday Urdu: Abbu, Ammi, Chachu, Phuphi, Mamu, Khala, Nani, Bhatija, Bhabhi and more.
  • An interactive tree you can zoom and print.
  • Profile photos — and each person can lock their own profile.
  • Link trees between family branches, with both admins' approval.
  • A next of kin can take over if the admin passes away.
  • Admins can export the whole tree.
  • Installs on your phone like an app.

Each app does one job and does it well. No bloated suites, no features you have to work around.

Private by default

We ask for as little data as an app needs to work, and what you share stays private — never put on public display.

Works on any phone

Our apps run in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Nothing to hunt for in an app store.

Free, supported by ads

Our apps are free to use and supported by ads. Where we offer it, a paid option removes the ads — like Shajra Plus.

Urdu and English friendly

What is 313bits?

313bits is a small, independent software studio. We make small, useful web apps for everyday life, each at its own address under 313bits.com — starting with Shajra, a private family-tree app.

Are the apps free?

Yes. Our apps are free to use and supported by ads. Some apps offer a paid option to remove the ads — for example, Shajra Plus removes ads for the whole family.

How do you handle my data?

We collect as little as we can. This website doesn't need an account; it keeps standard server logs and uses cookies for Google AdSense ads. Anything you put inside an app is covered by that app's own privacy policy. Read our Privacy Policy and Shajra's privacy policy for the details.

When will the coming-soon apps launch?

When they are ready. We would rather ship something small and solid than something rushed. Follow this site — new apps will appear here when they launch.
